The Essex AA cross country relays are being hosted by Billericay Striders and are being being held at Weald Park for 2024.
The date will be Saturday 12th October.
For 2024 the format will be as follows:
Race 1 9:30am U13/15/17 Girls – 3 legs of 3k (1 lap)
Race 2 10:15am U13/15/17 Boys – 3 legs of 3k (1 lap)
Race 3 11:00am All seniors and vets – 3 legs of 6k (2 laps) except Senior Men (4 legs of 6k/2 laps)
Vets teams are V40, V50 and V60.
Age groups for juniors and senior will be based on age as of 31/08/24. For veteran runners, age groups will be based on age on the day of competition, 12/10/24.
The course is the same as previous years with senior athletes bypassing the finish arch at the end of their first loop to run a second loop.
Note that all men's and women's races will be run together this year to avoid the delayed start that was required for the men's race last year. The start line will be wide enough to accomodate the teams.
Team mangers will need to purchase a ticket for each team they wish to enter in each catagory (number of participants field is number of teams in that age group), and in each ticket include the name, club, DOB , age on the day and EA number of all potential runners (up to 8) that may take part in that team to enable pre-checking of eligibility. Adding the potential runners here replaces the separate spreadsheet submission process that was used prior to the Road Relays earlier in the year.
After the completion of the races managers will need to complete a Google doc declarations sheet within 24 hours to declare the runners and order of the athletes that took place.
Entry fees are as follows
Junior Teams - £24 per team
Seniors and Vets - £30 per team of three and £40 per team of four runners.
Medals
Medals for winning teams will be awarded as soon after each race as possible.
There are 3 car parks available all with toilet facilities. Payment for the car park can be made via MiPermit by card or online. The park is open to the general public so please be courteous to other users
