Alton 10 - 2025

The Alton 10 is a popular event in the Hampshire Road Race League (HRRL) calendar, attracting runners from across the region. With its scenic, undulating course through the Hampshire countryside, it offers a rewarding challenge for runners of all abilities over a distance of 10 miles (16 km).

Venue:
Race HQ: Eggar's School, London Road, Holybourne, Alton, GU34 4EQ.
This is located at the eastern end of Alton on the main road towards the A31.
 

Race Details

Registration: Opens at 8:00 AM and closes at 9:10 AM.
Start Location: Holybourne Cricket Ground, London Road (approximately a 20-minute walk from Race HQ).
Finish Location: Eggar's School grounds.
Race Numbers & Timing Chips: To be collected on race day from Race HQ.

The Course:
The route follows a scenic, undulating circuit through Hampshire's countryside and picturesque village lanes, finishing back at Eggar's School. The total race distance is 10 miles (16 km).

• Please stay on the left side of the road unless directed otherwise by marshals.
• Cross the road only when instructed by marshals.
• Water stations will be positioned at approximately 3, 6, and 8 miles.
• A Lions vehicle will follow the last runner for support.
• In case of injury, wait safely at the roadside for assistance.

• Early Bird Pricing (before 3rd March): £20.00 (£18.00 for UKA Affiliated members)
• Standard Pricing (on or after 3rd March): £22.00 (£20.00 for UKA Affiliated members)

Facilities & Logistics

Parking: Details to be confirmed.
Toilets: Available at Eggar's School.
Changing Areas & Showers: Limited facilities are available at the school. We recommend arriving ready to run.
Bag Drop: A designated area will be available at Race HQ, supervised for security. Please label your bag with your race number.
Pre-Race Drinks: Refreshments will be available near the start.
 

Important Information

Age Limit: Participants must be aged 17 or older on race day.
Permits: UKA License No. TBC | Certificate of Course Accuracy: TBC
Prohibited: No dogs, wheeled vehicles, or accompaniment by bicycles. The event is not wheelchair accessible.
 

The Finish

• The finish line is located on the school grounds, a short distance from the start.
• After finishing, please move swiftly through the finish funnels to avoid congestion.
• Refreshments will be available after the race.
• Times will be recorded to the nearest second.

Presentation of Awards:
Awards will be presented as soon as possible after the race. If you need to leave early, please arrange for someone to collect your prize on your behalf.

Results:
Full results will be posted on this page as soon as possible after the race.

Awards:
All finishers will receive a medal.

Trophies and Prizes:
Trophies will be awarded to the top 3 male and female finishers overall:

• Overall Male: 1st, 2nd, 3rd
• Overall Female: 1st, 2nd, 3rd

Prizes will also be awarded to the first finisher in the following categories:

• Male: Senior, V40, V45, V50, V55, V60, V65, V70, V75
• Female: Senior, V35, V40, V45, V50, V55, V60, V65, V70
