A great run in the New Year organised by the friendly Metros Running club that welcomes all abilities and is not overpriced. Afterwards hot drinks, cakes and sandwiches are served . Well worth signing up.
Enjoyable local run
Starting and finishing at Harrow School Track, then two loops through Harrow on the Hill. There are a few hill involved. Very enjoyable run.
Amazing race!
The volunteers are amazing and the route is lovely.
Lovely friendly event, with cake at the finish!
Good setting and less challenging than feared!
Well organised, friendly and challenging event
I started running in early 2022 joining Queens Park Harriers shortly afterwards. The Harrow Hill 10k was my first course that specified a maximum completion time to get medaled. It was therefore an exciting event to be a part of, and at the same time an anxious one to meet the time challenge at 71 years of age. The organisation of the event was very good particularly as there was a need to change the course at the last minute because of flooding along the Kenton Road stretch. This meant that the new course required running/walking twice up the very steep climb of Football Lane which was I guess was heavy going even for younger legs. The facilities provided were very good, although it seemed that the toilet block had been erected over a pond. Refreshments at the end were plentiful. The results of this event were quick to be published online. I liked the design of the medal; this being my first medal of the year. Well done to the organisers and thanks to all the happy volunteers.
Very good race but a poor medal.
The event as a whole was very good. Very well organised, good scenery and a nice running track to do the warm up. The race was enjoyable and well Marshall. The only negative was a poor cheap looking medal. Food was average too
Enjoyable and well executed
Excellent friendly event
Fabulous
I haven’t taken part in a 10 km for almost four years and was very apprehensive.
I really enjoyed it, apart from being very organised everyone was very friendly. The course was an excellent choice, there was one road with uneven pavement however I could run in the service road. I like how all the marshals and volunteers were on all ages from the seniors through to the children at the finishing line handing out the medals. All round it had great vibes and I will certainly be taking part again.
Thoroughly enjoyed it
This was my first race in 5 years and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you to the organiser and all the helpers and marshalls who have all done a fab job :)
Well organised and communicated race, lot of marshalls, supportive atmosphere, and a big hill!
Very welcoming to someone who doesn't run for a club or have much raceday experience, and sports cap water bottles at water stations was a personal favourite! Had a great time in a tough but enjoyable course. Thanks to the team for their hard work.
I really enjoyed it and felt a real buzz afterwards.
Excellant
Excellent idea to start and finish on the running track. Maybe the loos can be located elsewhere in future, was dangerous to enter and exit due to it being on muddy grass.
Hope to enter again next year, this was my fourth!
Maybe a summer 10k?
Wonderful experience on a Sunday morning
A really great annual event.
Please consider breaking down age categories further i.e 60 -65, 65-70.
Thanks
Nicest running event I have done for a while
Having travelled up from Surrey and not knowing the area I found this so well organised and friendly and I hope to come back next year with some friends from my club
Welcoming, well organised and inclusive.
Metros very approachable club and made all participants welcome. I very much enjoyed seeing that a tail walker had been instated to allow walkers to take part in this 10km. See you next year!
Fun, Friendly local race
Everyone involved across the volunteers and community are absolutely fantastic - proud to be a Harrow/Hillingdon rep :-)
Thank you for all your hard work and efforts. Without the volunteers this is not possible - many many thanks....
Thanks to the volunteers it was a well organised event
Some of the pavements and surfaces are uneven which made it tricky at times. Someone reversed their car over the pavement in front of me and I had to detour into their drive. It can’t be avoided with a road race!
