5 miles in the Essex Countryside, this is the perfect race to start your weekend. 

This year promises to be bigger and better than ever, with the race being part of the Essex Championship Grand Prix Series once again.

Whether your chasing that PB, looking to grab an Essex Medal or just wanting to enjoy the atmosphere of running with 400 other like minded runners and have fun, this is the race for you.

5 miles is the perfect distance for all those budding 5k runners wanting to take the next step.

The race will be Chip Timed and consists of a 2 lap course on quiet country lanes around the beautiful Essex Village of Pleshey, near Chelmsford.

Are you a member of UK Athletics, born in Essex or who have been a resident in Essex for 9 months or longer? If this is you don't forget to tick the Essex Champs option so you are also part of the Essex Champs Race, it won't cost you anything more and you may find yourself being the proud owner of an Essex Medal. There are individual and team medals up for grabs.

All runners are welcome to join in the post race BBQ, swap your race number for either a free burger or vegaterian option. There will also be refreshments available to purchase.
