The ever popular Wheathampstead 10k race and 2K family fun run will be back again in May 2024, starting and finishing on Marford Playing Fields.

This popular annual charity event has become a favourite amongst local runners and even sees competitors from much further afield coming to the village, encouraged by reports of a run with a local feel that takes in the beautiful Hertfordshire countryside.

The 10k is a challenging mat to mat off road course and with its outstanding scenery and friendly village setting, this is a popular run with all levels of runners . The event starts at 11am. 

The 2K Run is an off road circular course that is ideal for families and is suitable for both runners and walkers of all ages. This event starts at 10am. 

Race for your school. Back by popular demand , we will again be hosting an inter primary school 2k challenge to encourage children to participate in a fun physical activity , but with a competition edge. Eligible schools can be seen here. Select your school name from the dropdown list when when you register and become part of the competition to win the prize for your school.

There is a baggage drop available at Marford Hall (Race HQ)

The event is not all about the racing. There will be a barbecue, teas, coffees and cakes avaialble, together with fairground rides, massage and stalls. A great morning out with the family!

• Event Cancellation Policy: If the event should need to be cancelled, you will be offered a deferral to the next event
• Refund, Transfer & Withdrawal Policy: As this is a charity event,  refunds will not be given if you cannot take part. An entry can be transferred  to another runner up until Tuesday 9th May, 10 days before the event. To request a transfer, please use the option within the entries site to make the transfer request.
